It would seem that if everyone who would like to see Christmas and Christianity destroyed because they might have an atheist point of view, and every lesbian or gay takes offense when people do not see their point of view, the world must stop rotating on its axis and bow to their demands. Americans still have the right to express themselves even if others feel what was said might be in bad taste. Our first amendment allows for the freedom of speech. Search, as one may into the U.S. Constitution, you will not find an amendment that selects one measure of bad taste over an other. The president seems to be a big advocate of what he interprets as fairness. Perhaps he might come lout in defense of Phil Robertson’s right to express himself. Television and some cable stations have provided much more in the way of rabble rousing and racist and homophobic comments without the immediate discharge of the person who uttered them. Apparently one’s political views determine what is a crime and how it must be punished. I recall al sharpton’s race baiting remarks about Bill O’Reilly that were proven to be false but the harlem hate monger was not admonished. If A&E that shows The Duck Dynasty, a program I must admit I have never watched, feels the need to knuckle under the gay and lesbian/transgender etal lobby. then perhaps all shows except those depicting the gay and lesbian life style should be removed from that cable station. I don’t care what gays and lesbians do to or with each other, but they are not yet the underlying moral authority of this country, YET!
PHIL ROBERTSON AND THE DUCK DYNASTY VS. homosexuality: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO AGREE WITH PHIL, BUT HE HAS THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS HIS VIEWS ON A QUESTION ASKED BY CQ MAG.
