I have recently received personal email suggesting that my posts have become too biased, with rhetoric reduced to a rant. Rants are verbalized. What I put down in prose are my firm beliefs, based upon past and recent history that lead me to believe that this president and his administration and certain members of the democratic party continue to pursue an agenda that will purposefully bankrupt this country, level the playing fields in the world and perhaps give us an economy such as Kenya now enjoys. It has not been understated by Obama that he seeks social justice, a collective religion, and sharing of wealth. It has not worked for any socialist or communist government but he is hell-bent to try based upon advisers former and present who believe in revolution as a means to and by any means. As I have previously noted, I have received most likely obscene comments that I have never seen. The emails were civil and not unreasonable, but clearly are too many unbalanced most likely liberals who choose to have their comments anonymous and unread by virtue of their content.
I have great concerns for the economic welfare and health of my grandchildren going forward as well as those of my friends and the American children yet to be born. This president, as an old Indian expression might suggest, speaks with two tongues. If Obama really believes everything he says, he is a fool. If he does not, he is a liar. Some people do not like my suggestion that Obama offers untruths. If they listened carefully to what he says and too often, they would see through the rhetoric as the smoke and mirrors it looks to be. I understand that the economy has taken a sudden boost as the stock market has been driven to its highest point in two years, but the elation may be only temporary since the continued printing of money by Treasury will reduce the value of the dollar and create a period of inflation we will have a difficult getting out of. So, those of you who are doing “relatively” well currently with your investments, most likely will give Obama and his administration a higher approval rate that will soon turn to “what have you done for me lately.”
In his State of The Union Speech, Obama hung the suggestion of reducing corporate taxes out to dry, but made no reference to the need for its immediacy. Why is it so difficult to comprehend that these reductions could lead to more foreign business and investments in our country. As of today we are third in the world with highest corporate taxes. Less pressure on small business will lead to more assurance that hiring new workers will be a safe decision, and the safety net must include removal of forced purchase of health insurance across the board and not just to favorites, allowing employees to take their health insurance to another job, and opening the field by allowing the purchase of health insurance across state lines. Obama also threw out a suggestion of tort reform, which I, as a physician believe in but am too cynical to believe that the ABA lobby and lawyers in Congress will ever vote for that any more than they would Term Limits. I believe Obama knows that, but it sounded good to say.
The monies spent for absurd pet projects, known as earmarks is obscene and must be not curtailed but removed. No add-ons should be allowed to bills and the president should have the right of line-item veto, that if he does not exercise, would show his real intentions regarding the matter. The CBO yesterday advised that the debt would increase in 2011 by 1.4 Trillion dollars and possibly 2% more in 2012. Unless ObamaCare is repealed and replaced with a more economically feasible health care reform plan, their will no debt ceiling easily reachable. Our healthcare is the best in the world. Why reproduce that of England which currently has rejected its own system. Patients from Canada still flood the US for care. Canadian doctors have emigrated to our country because of an untenable system in which they have to work. The death rate for the major diseases is so much higher in countries with non-incentive socialized health care. I should not call Obama a provider of untruths? Well, he said that under Obamacare “you would be able to keep your own doctor and health insurance”. Yesterday the CBO said that was not necessarily a certainty. Perhaps the President should just not reference that which he is ignorant about and that takes in a score of subjects.
Lastly, it has been suggested that we give Obama a chance. After all he seems to be moving to the center. News Flash…a politician will do anything and say anything to get re-elected. Tuesday’s speech had more to do with 2012 than the state of our union. All of the vague promises made, we have heard before. The bad ones he has lived up to..that of “fundamentally changing this country”. The suggested good promises have never seen the light of day along with that overused word, transparency. Why would any American believe that building high-speed trains at excessive cost be a good thing when Amtrak has lost multi-billions in the past ten years. Is this really a priority or has he nothing better to offer? Is Obama’s head screwed on right? (left). Yes education must be dealt with to get our children on par with China and India, but money could be saved and not excessively spent(sorry invested) if we removed bad teachers, rewarded good ones and dealt with the union fraud with regard to tenure and pensions. Obama is clueless, at least to what the American people want. He recently cemented his relation with the head of G.E who has a vested interest in producing Green things, that Van Jones (remember him) calls social justice and spread the wealth. If he were related, it would be called nepotism.
There have, because of the lack of term limits, aging politicians who have been Washington for years. making the same promises that they will do something, change something, better our lot, fight corruption (while contributing to it). The President’s speech was full of promises and hope (please no more change) that will never be realized because it is not his intent. He had his chance two years ago, but overspent, mis-spoke, and blamed his predecessor, not unjustly in small part, for all of the ills while taking no personal responsibility. Give him chance? AND WHAT IF HE CONTINUES TO FAIL? He will blame the Republicans.
