Although some member of Congress have decried the continued use of earmarks, they have resorted to “letter marking”. Not much is known about this questionable process, whereby congressmen and women write letters to government agencies requesting money for pet projects promised to constituents. Transparency is once again clouded by smoke and mirrors, Congress just seems to continue the hypocrisy of excessive spending, only while not calling it earmarks, still smells like the sty. Perhaps certain government agencies should be investigated as to how budgeted money is being used. Who will investigate them? The Congress, of course.
